A Journey Through Burundi in 23 Coffees
In the heart of East Africa lies Burundi, woven with threads of emerald green hills, shimmering lakes and vibrant culture. Its crisp air carries the earthy scent of damp soil, perfect for an array of vegetables, fruits and legumes, sold at the bustling market in Bujumbura. The gentle rustling of leaves are accompanied by a symphony of bird songs and the call of the African Fish Eagle.
Traveling deeper into the countryside and out of the energetic Bujumbura, the landscape shifts to terraced hillsides covered with banana groves, tea plantations and coffee trees. The rich, loamy scent of the earth mingles with the sweet aroma of flowering coffee trees, a reminder of Burundi’s reputation for producing some of the finest coffee in the world. In a year of exceptional growth, characterized by new farmers, doubled micro-lots and new flavor profile discoveries, we know there’s something extraordinarily special about this year's Private Auction Collection and we’re thrilled to invite you along to explore it again.
You can expect coffees from 23 exceptional microlots across 14 different hills, processed at our three washing stations.
